Lucky wouldn’t budge from my pillow last night. Ever since her neck / vertebrae problem last fall, I’ve been unwilling to drag her around like I used to, forcing her into position. So I tried coaxing her off the pillow, sweetly and gently.
She wouldn’t move.
I turned to Nate and said, “Damn dog. She thinks she’s the boss of everything.”
And Nate said, “Well Rach, she is. She’s taking your pillow, and you’re calling her sugar muffin.“

That’s so funny. Blackjack will do the same thing. By morning I’m on a little itty bitty piece of the corner, and he’s got the whole damn pillow. But do I move him? No! I just wake up with a crook in my neck. Spoiled cat.

When Lucks was with us, I used to sleep in a hybrid of the fetal position, carefull not to get my feet too close to him – not because I wanted to make sure he was comfortable, but becasue I was terrified he would bite me in the middle of the night – with only one-eye and a keen interest in self-defense, he was a tough one to sleep with!
I REALLY miss him – I often call Goose Lucky, then close my eyes and sniff his soft ears, pretending he is here…yes that was a tear your just heard hitting my keyboard.
Love you
